The Two Main Reasons Why Most New Self-Employed Painters Quit And Go Out Of Business

The two main reasons are:

1.) New painters don’t know how to get business, and …

2.) They don’t know how to estimate the jobs if they do get them.

FACT: The minute you quit estimating (or can’t estimate) is the minute you start losing money.

There are tons of quality jobs you can grab if you know where they are and how to estimate them.

In the beginning, a new painter, because he is scared of not getting the work, will chicken out and go low in price. Whereas if they had a sound estimating system, they would relax knowing that if they cannot get the correct price they bid on, they just walk away happy they won’t be working for free.

Otherwise, the painter, or painters, will look pitiful during the length or term of the job and not enjoy their work. I know this scenario all too well because I went through it!

Being able to sit down and count the cost before taking on any new painting project only makes sense. When you are in healthy cash flow, you are in business, and you can do a professional job. And more will come your way. It’s this way in any business.
