Painting Business Profits: How To Make Any Home Or Business Look Like a Million Dollars

Custom painting is an art form. If you want to have lots of profitable weeks and get the best cash-paying jobs, learn how to do quality, professional work.  Many people “think” they know how to paint (including me at one time). It takes ‘learned’ pro techniques to do a really good job. I still can learn newer and better ways to use professional paint jobs.

I walked into an office space one time and saw the most beautiful paint job ever. The walls were money-green and had a very nice finish and a smooth-looking sheen level. The contractor must have been proud.

For painting exterior homes, I always use historic paint brochures and the exterior 3-color paint brochures to choose a color scheme with. If you are good with colors, You could choose great colors on your own. These people are rare.

By using 3-color Historical Brochures, you won’t wind up with odd-looking colors on your shutters and front door making it look like a clown’s fun-house.

The same thing goes for interior painting. Historic color brochures and interior 3-color combination brochures will give you an idea for the right color schemes for each room.

I always tell people to look at the existing brick or tile colors of your floor. Or the stain color of your floor and woodwork and go from there. The same thing goes for exterior painting. Start with the existing brick or stone colors to work off of when choosing colors.

Many people today don’t pay much attention to their ceilings. They want just the walls painted. It’s kind of like taking a bath without washing your hair.

A beautiful paint job for a bedroom, living room, etc. should consist of a nice flat ceiling white, a matte finish on the walls and a satin enamel finish on the woodwork and trim. Bathrooms and kitchens need a washable finish.

The most important part is the prep work. This part takes a pro in some cases. I have learned how to make my prep work go fast and a lot more fun that what other painters do.
