When it comes to paint stores, I love Sherwin-Williams because they have great products (think Emerald Eurethane). I also love them because everything a painter needs is under one roof.
I like Benjamin Moore too, but their products are usually found in ‘mom & pop’ paint stores that carry too many brands and with holes in them.
What are the holes? For example, I used to use a great brand that didn’t carry the solid white non-tinting white (which is more high-hiding because it has more filler like clay). Instead, they added a shot of black to a tinting white to make it ‘brilliant white’.
The paint brand had the solid-white, but this particular paint store didn’t carry it.
I would have rather have seen them carry a few good brands and carry the full line-up than a line without all the products in it.
