Make Money With Painting Services

There are many ways to make money with your painting services. Here are a few of the most common:

  • Offer your services to businesses.

Businesses are always looking for ways to improve their appearance, and painting is a relatively inexpensive way to do that. You can offer your services to businesses of all sizes, from small shops to large corporations.

I like doing commercial jobs. Sometimes it’s good to get back to residential painting though. Many commercial jobs are done at night when everybody is gone.

  • Paint homes and apartments.

This is a classic way to make money with painting services. You can find clients through word-of-mouth, online classifieds, or by networking with other painters.

Stay away from most realtors. There is not much money working for these guys. Also, apartment complexes probably don’t pay well either. However, painting an apartment or rental property for a private individual can be O.K.

  • Specialize in a particular type of painting.

If you have a particular skill or interest, you can specialize in that type of painting.

For example, you could specialize in painting murals, faux finishes, or painting for historical restoration projects. See: http://AmazingStarMurals.com

  • Offer painting classes or workshops.

If you’re passionate about painting, you can share your knowledge and skills with others by teaching painting classes or workshops. This is a great way to make money while also helping others to improve their painting skills.

  • Sell your own paintings. (I just read about a house painter that also does this.)

If you’re an artist, you can sell your own paintings through your own website, online art marketplaces, or at art fairs and festivals. No matter which approach you choose, there are a few key things you need to do to make money with painting services:

  • Have a strong online presence.

In today’s digital world, it’s essential to have a strong online presence if you want to attract clients. This means having a website, being active on social media, and listing your services on online directories. (Not really necessary for a house painter unless you have a crew and need to stay as busy as possible.)

  • Be professional and reliable.

When you’re working with clients, it’s important to be professional and reliable. This means showing up on time, being organized, and delivering high-quality work (well, yeah… except for showing up on time, sometimes you have to go to the paint store or do an estimate at 9 a.m.)

A lot of times customers are at work themselves, so you just come and go as you please and I like that.

  • Be competitive with your pricing.

When you’re setting your prices, it’s important to be competitive with other painters in your area. However, you also need to make sure that you’re charging enough to cover your costs and make a profit. If you can do these things, you’ll be well on your way to making money with painting services.

I never worried about my competition. I never really felt I had any. If you have a price you are satisfied with, stick with it. Nobody ever resists your price if you are painting for the right people.

Besides, I work too hard for my money to be giving away my service for a cheaper price. (Hey, you like the other guys price better? Well, see ya! except for showing up on time. Sometimes I have to go to the paint store or do an estimate around 9 a.m.)

Here are some additional tips to help you make money with painting services:

  • Get the proper training and certifications.

If you want to be taken seriously as a professional painter, it’s important to get the proper training and certifications. There are many different courses and programs available, so you can find one that fits your needs and budget.

A general contractor once told me, if you are licensed, you will make better money. Although I was never licensed, that made sense. But I found that knowing how to estimate your paint jobs ‘like a pro’ will make you better money every time! See: https://PaintingBusinessman.com

  • Build a strong network.

Networking is essential for any business, but it’s especially important for painters. Get to know other painters in your area, as well as people in the construction and remodeling industries. The more people you know, the more likely you are to find clients. (True, but not essential. Knowing how to find customers and estimate your jobs still kicks butt.)

  • Promote your services.

Once you have the skills and experience, you need to let people know about your services. This means advertising in local publications, creating a website, and using social media.

I used to advertise in our local shopper guide. while it is good for new painters, I outgrew it as soon as I got my prices up. years later, I ran an ad in the shopper guide but soon found out that the people who wanted an estimate were a little shocked at my estimate.

I also tried the newspaper but found them a little pricey and the response wasn’t very good. however I did find a way to stay busy during the holidays, which I reveal in my ‘How To Paint Like a Pro’ manual. See: https://PaintingBusinessman.com

  • Offer discounts and promotions.

One way to attract new clients is to offer discounts and promotions. This could include a free estimate, a discount for repeat customers, or a special offer for seniors or military personnel.

Personally, I never had to do that. I just find the customer or he or she finds me and I give an estimate. It’s as simple as that.

  • Provide excellent customer service.

Once you have a client, it’s important to provide excellent customer service. This means being responsive to their needs, going the extra mile, and making sure they’re happy with the finished product.

By following these tips, you can greatly increase your chances of success in your painting business.
